The rain had been coming down in torrents all day. Patiently he peered out the window, eagerly anticipating the moment when the storm would let up. He had been at his post since breakfast, refusing to leave his vantage point lest the storm should retire without him. His untiring vigilance was eventually rewarded when the drizzling subsided and a low mist overtook the now-drenched landscape. Without hesitating, he sprung from his seat at the window, caught up his brand-new toy sailboat, and dashed out the door. For though he was aware that there were no lakes, rivers, or streams for miles around, he knew that with the recent rain, new bodies of water had sprung up everywhere. "What better way to spend a cold, wet afternoon, than by sailing my boat through new, uncharted seas," he thought to himself as he jumped from puddle to puddle...
Had an unexpected surprise today. We hardly ever get fog out here, and so when it started rolling in, I knew I had to take advantage of this rare opportunity. This was another image that I had been visualizing in my mind for a while, but up until today hadn't finalized all the details (originally it was just going to be the boat floating in the puddle, or the tub, or the sink, I wasn't quite sure which). Then I found the perfect puddle just a little ways up our driveway (I helped it out a little by adding a couple gallons of water to it to give it a little more body), and then Sam offered to pose for me, and so everything just came together beautifully for this image and I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
