BW Project Week 32

ISO 100 | 200mm | f11 | 1/160 sec

The sights, sounds, and smells of the west coast are a stark contrast to the eastern side of Washington state.  I can't recall the last time I was over on this side of the state during the winter season, but I can tell you that it still gets cold over here just like back home.

Of course being so near the ocean affords multiple opportunities to capture the amazing beauty of the water.  The shot above was taken in one of the west sides' many bays.  It was amazing how calm and peaceful the water was and how spectacular the reflections of the sky and distant land-masses appeared on the frigid surface of the bay.  I just really love how the solid-lines jut out of the still water and create an eye-catching scene that continues on beyond the constrains of the frame.

Below is a shot of a small crabbing boat, a common sight near the oceanfront.  Something that I love about this image is the rich textures as well as the detail of the rope/crab trap.

I'm enjoying my time over here and appreciating this opportunity to capture some new sights/scenes.  I'm definitely going to try to take advantage of what little time I have here to get as many images as I can...
