BW Project Week 26

Halfway done with my 52 week B&W project, and still going strong!

I've felt a little overwhelmed this week, lots to be done and not enough time to do everything.  One of the big concerns for me this week has been in the area of music.  It's been a while since our family has played as a group, and we've been frantically trying to work up a good 2-hour program for this weekend (tonight, actually).  It's been a difficult climb, and I'm hoping that it ends in a grand finale, but that has yet to be seen.

So, in an attempt to portray my sense of inadequacy, fear, and uncertainty, I constructed a couple large sets and did a couple of self-portraits (I wish).

What you see here are a couple of composite images.  I photographed the piano and the guitar with a macro lens and a strobe, controlling the light and compressing the focus to give it that sense of hugeness (yes, that is a word).  I then took separate photos of myself in multiple poses with the same lighting setup (I did this at 3:00 in the morning after I got home from work, I'm sure the neighbors were wondering what all the flashing was about), then super-imposed myself into the scene, adjusted colors/tones, and added shadows to keep me from floating.  All-in-all I think it makes for a cool image, hopefully one that accurately conveys my feelings to the viewer.

Anyways, sorry for being so brief with this post, but I've got to run and get ready for tonight's gig.

Time to break a leg (and hopefully nothing else!).
