BW Project Week 15

ISO 100 | 80mm | f 4.0 | 1/2000 sec

I know I'm a little late in posting my weekly photo.  It could have partly to do with the fact that I didn't get a picture until yesterday...

I found myself wandering around yesterday trying to find something to capture for my weekly photo, trying to take advantage of the time I had before I had to go to work.  I'm in the car driving around, trying to find something interesting.  I'm zipping down the road, gazing out my window, looking and looking, all the while the odometer continuing to advance and the fuel gauge declining steadily.  Finally, out of desperation to capture something, just anything to fulfill this week's photo assignment, I pull over, jump out, and tossing all sensibility out the window, run into the middle of the road.

Hunkered down over the wet pavement, I try to keep my ears tuned to the sound of approaching vehicles.  All the while I'm snapping pictures as fast as I can, trying to get something decent (hey, photographing the centerline of a busy highway is an art that requires significant thought, adequate preparation, and perfected skills/techniques/stupidity ;-) ).

Anyways, here it is in all its glory.  Now no one can go away saying that I don't care about my commitment to bring you a new photo every week.  I risked my life for this masterpiece, and if you want to become a true artist, then you should ask yourself the question: what am I willing to sacrifice in order to capture the perfect image?  Only true artists are willing to put their lives on the line for the advancement of art, and maybe that's why most of them die before they reach their 30's.  ;-)
